Gratitude

So Many Thank You’s

It’s difficult to know where to start. This year was challenging, exciting and most of all, incredibly rewarding.

Thank you💟to all of our first time donors this year, your belief in our organization and what we can do for people with chronic pain, is greatly appreciated.

Thank you 💟 to our board who work tirelessly, donating time and funds to keep the organization moving forward. We are now at 5 board members and grateful for their expertise and commitment. Thanks to Nancy Vuckovic, Philip Yassenoff, Jennifer Roop, Meredith Mangold and prior secretary Rebecca Rafferty.

Thank you 💟 to all of our amazing volunteers. The job market has been tough this year, but humans are remarkable and resilient. It has brought us many talented volunteers who aren’t willing to sit idly. Sarah, Abi, Abhi, Ruby, Emma, Claire, Skye, Nadine, Elisha and Victoria. And our fantastic intern Sienna.

Thank you 💟 to our partners, Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative for co-hosting events this year and Pantheon Arts for being incredibly supportive partners, reposting our Instagram and even taking the time to participate in our exhibit.

Thank you 💟 to the Vancouver Library for so deftly and carefully hanging our summer show, and giving us workshop space. Thanks to the Southwest Community Center in Portland for hosting our next show in January 2026!

Thank you 💟 to the folks at Social Good Place for nominating us for their $1000 end of year grant! We are excited to host workshops next year thanks to this donation.

Art Stories

Hear From Our Artists

Not only do our artists create moving pieces, they also have fascinating life stories. In an hour long interview, each artist shares more about their chronic pain story and talks in depth about the piece(s) they’ve created for our exhibits.

Volunteer Nadine Borst and intern Sienna Morell-Grant have been working on taking these interviews and creating short clips to share on our YouTube channel.

This week, we are featuring Jordan Delaine. Jordan has been an artist with us since the summer, but she’s been an artist in her own right long before that. She’s been an amazing addition to our artist community bringing her bright spirit and deep knowledge to the organization.

Unexpected Donations

Monday morning, I woke up to a sizable donation in our account. It was much more than an individual typically donates and it was from a person I hadn’t met - which is unusual for a small non-profit. I took a few steps to be sure it wasn’t a scam. Late morning I got an email confirming it was true. I cried some very happy tears!

Thank you to the awesome folks at CollyString Marketing. Part of their culture is to ask employees for nominations for end of year donations. This year, the husband of one of our artists (an artist in his own right) nominated the Chronic Pain Project. We were selected for a very generous donation!

We are excited to be able to help so many more artists with this donation.
