Join Our Board!

We have an amazing board right now of four dedicated professionals, and we are looking to grow! We are seeking two new board members: a Secretary and a Treasurer, although others who are interested should apply as we are always looking for dedicated individuals who believe in the cause.

The Secretary will keep the board organized and efficient, while the Treasurer will guide financial decisions and monitor spending. Both roles require attending board meetings once or twice a month, and the positions offer the opportunity to shape a young organization making a real impact. Interested individuals can find full job descriptions and more information in the link below.

Exhibit Update

Call for Artists: January Show 2026

Illuminating the Invisible: The Beauty Behind the Pain opens January 8, 2026 at the Southwest Community Center in Portland, Oregon, running through February 20. This exhibit brings together works from artists living with chronic pain—both formally trained and self-taught creators are welcome to participate.

Through paintings, sculptures, textiles, and mixed media, the artists transform their daily realities into powerful visual narratives, offering visitors an intimate look at experiences often invisible to those outside the chronic pain community. The exhibit creates space for both recognition and connection—inviting people with chronic pain to feel seen while helping others understand what it's like to live in constant pain. A new call for art will be announced soon, welcoming additional artists to join this growing collection of voices.

We are also accepting donations to support this upcoming show. Some artists are unemployed or underemployed and unable to cover the cost of shipping their art to be in the show. We don’t charge application fees like many art shows do, since we want everyone to be able to participate.

Your donation, of any amount, helps cover the cost for those in need.

For Your Information

Art in the Wild: Between Exhibits

While we're planning our next full exhibition, the art from our community isn't gathering dust—it's out in the world, meeting people right where they are.

We're thrilled to announce that two Portland chiropractors have opened their doors (and walls) to showcase work from the Chronic Pain Project. Longevity Chiropractic and CALM Chiropractic, are now displaying pieces created by artists living with chronic pain, bringing these powerful stories into healing spaces where they resonate most.

There's something meaningful about this pairing—art born from pain experiences hanging in spaces dedicated to pain relief. Patients in waiting rooms can see themselves reflected in these works. Providers are reminded of the lived experiences behind the symptoms. It creates conversation and connection in unexpected moments.

This kind of local support bridges the gaps between our larger exhibits, keeping the work visible and the conversations going. And if a piece speaks to you? Every work displayed is available for purchase through our brand new online digital catalog.

Art meeting people in their everyday lives—exactly where it should be.
