Grant Update

Winner!

Exciting news to share

On Tuesday, December 2nd, Executive Director Janna Kimel gave a 5 minute pitch to win a microgrant ($1000) from Social Good Place here in Portland, Oregon. By an admittedly narrow margin, we won the grant! Thanks to all of our wonderful friends who attended to share your support, and your vote.

To a large organization, it may not seem like much, but for us, it means that people believe in the work we are doing. They can see the value and want to help us support more people living with chronic pain. This grant means we’ll be able to host workshops in 2026 and not turn anyone away.

Special thanks to board members Nancy Vuckovic and Philip Yassenoff and Sienna Morrell-Grant, our intern for your support last Tuesday.

Want to help us match that $1000?

Your tax-deductible donation helps us continue our programming with trauma informed workshop leaders, accessible supplies and a sliding scale so no one is turned away. We’ve raised $458 in our end of year fundraiser so far. Can you help us get to $1000?

Every dollar, whether $5 or $500, helps us create more accessible spaces where invisible experiences become visible.

Art Stories

Hear From Our Artists

Not only do our artists create moving pieces, they also have fascinating life stories. In an hour long interview, each artist shares more about their chronic pain story and talks in depth about the piece(s) they’ve created for our exhibits.

Volunteer Nadine Borst and intern Sienna Morell-Grant have been working on taking these interviews and creating short clips to share on our YouTube channel.

This week, we are featuring Nadine Renee Borst from Berlin, Germany. My broader practice involves uncovering and exposing what often goes unnoticed. Connecting intimate experiences to wider themes like communal bearing strength, mental health, and ecological grief. I work across media: performance, video, text, soundscapes, illustration and sculpture, always letting the subject lead the form.” Nadine has also been a volunteer contributor to the Chronic Pain Project both editing and mentoring our student editor to create these short videos.
